In an effort to streamline my website and blog, I have decided to create a 'blogsite'. It will have all the info you need about pricing, sessions, contact info, galleries, sneak peeks, and my personal fun stuff as well. I am going to attempt to import the posts from this blog to my new site, but, this blog will still be here for archive purposes :)

{Heuseveldt Kids}

These kids rock! I have been lucky enough to shoot them a few times and despite the cloudy, windy day, they were ready to go! I had a great time and let me tell you, that little boy just looks like a handful in these shots, and well, he is! Plus, he tells a great knock, knock joke.

We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again :)

Being on stage to shoot a band is a gift, you get a perspective few get to enjoy..and you get to get right in their faces for some great shots :) Not only did I get the privilege of shooting Blind Divine at Plush in Tucson, I am also honored to call Paula and Daniel friends. {new chapter}

I am getting married next month {yay!!}, and at the end of July we are moving to San Francisco! Big change! We are taking 3 of the kids w/ us and 3 are staying here in Phoenix...this is the hardest part of the move, but, there will be lots of visits and lots of video chats. We are excited, nervous and a bit sad about the whole thing; but all in all we are really looking forward to the change of scenery and WEATHER!!

I am taking sessions thru mid-July and have discounted my session fee to $75 {regularly $125} and offering a free 8x10! Give me a call or shoot me an email if you want to take advantage of the savings and get some portraits done :)

Since no post is any good without pictures, I give you Violet :)

{Pearsonville, CA Junkyard}

Denver and I had the wonderful pleasure of attending a nighttime photography workshop in Pearsonville, CA, with two of the best at this type of work, Troy Paiva and Joe Reifer. It was 3 nights of painting with light using flashlights, colored gels and other colored lights. It was SO much harder than I anticipated, and was rough for me cause I had a kidney infection creeping up on me and didn't know it. Overall, this was one of the best experiences I've had shooting pictures. I got to do this w/ the love of my life and try something so completely out of my comfort zone. This junkyard was one of the coolest places I've been and we both look forward to the next workshop so we can do it all over again!

I had the privilege of taking portraits of Tony and Allison's two adorable little girls some months back, and was thrilled to be asked to take his political portraits. Tony is going to run for a State Senate seat here in Arizona. We will take family pictures after their new bundle makes his arrival...and I can't wait!

I could steal them and shoot them every day :)

Catching Sam in person or camera was definitely a challenge! He was SO cute and such hoot to chase and watch run amok..and be bribed with mints to sit still long enough to get his picture taken :) Marie is my stylist and is moving to sunny San Diego after the new year, so to take her family portraits before they move was a real treat. San Diego is about to get a little bit prettier with this family! Thanks guys for such a great session!!

There is nothing quite like a 3 year old boy, I can tell you! This little guy is no exception. He was so full of energy and SO much fun..I haven't laughed so much in awhile. And his little brother..yummy cuteness. I wanted to take him home. I will surely settle for a fun morning taking their pictures any day!

With a model this lovely, it's extra hard to choose just a few :) I had a great time meeting Samantha & her Mom. Have I said how much I love shooting teenagers?? This session just made me love it all the more!

These kids are troopers, let me tell you. Braving killer bugs and stickers in the desert, wet grass, ants..you name it! Despite the challenges we faced, we had a good time and got some pretty good shots. Working thru the rest, but had to get a few up right away..hope you like them Brenna Family!

I love, love this family! So to do their family pictures was fun..and a lot of pressure to not blow it :) I love the pew and wish I had one of my own, only about half the weight. I love how they turned out and can't wait to go back out with the kids and get more tutu shots soon!

{The Middle Child}

Well, technically, with 6 kids you don't have a middle child, but for nearly 9 years of his life, Logan was the middle child, and his personality shows it..though he's a bit more vivacious than your typical middle child. Actually, My 2nd child, Brandon is the middle child personality to a 'T'..so maybe all that stuff goes out the window in my ridiculouly large family! Anyway, I hadn't really done a session w/ just him yet, so this afternoon we did a quickie shoot. He got bored right away and decided he's too cool to smile..but it all worked out :) Also, I couldn't resist the getting some pics in his Wolverine shirt..he is named after him. :)

I absolutely adored doing this session!! I first met Caleb when he was a newborn, so seeing him so grown up and such a GREAT kid was a treat! Jackson is not a walker..he's a runner! He is so much fun and so silly & has his own idea about what's what..fun, fun stuff! We had a good time and I am so happy to have played with them for a couple hours.

This lil guy and my oldest, share the same birthday {2/20}! He is such a cutie patoot! His little personalized outfit is extra fun, too. Cole was feeling a little out of sorts, and the wind wreaked havoc on the balloons, but we had a good time & man is he a doll! When he smiles..forget about it..the whole park lit up :)

This was my first ever wedding! It was the sweetest, smallest, loveliest wedding! I was honored to have been a part of Robert & Alena's day. It was super fast and time was tight, but I think we got some really nice shots of the day. My awesome sister in law, Shelly partnered with me & for that I am thankful :) These are my favorite that are edited so far. If all brides and grooms {and their families} could be this awesome, I'd do weddings every weekend :)

Luke actually complained about not having any recent pics taken of him! So, I took him, Ethan and Violet out for a mini shoot. I really hadn't taken many pics of Luke or Ethan recently, so they were overdue..Violet..well, she's cute & always smiles and I *needed* to get a few shots w/ that super cute sucker :) So now Luke has some new MySpace & My Yearbook pics, cause that's what it's all about when you're getting ready to turn 14! And Mom has some pics to turn into 11x14s that will grace our walls, cause for me, that's what it's all about!

This family was such a treat to meet :) I love that Mom & Dad brought the jerseys for their favorite team {even though we're in Cardinal country}..such a fun idea! The girls were great and patient w/ all the standing & sitting. The sun was a bit of an issue..are they days getting longer or is it me?? Ican't say enough how much fun this session was! I adore these kids on a regular day..but they were fantastic for me to shoot! The girls are just such fun to be with and made my job so easy. Little man, here, wasn't so interested in the lady with the camera..but the when he looked at me, we got him. You can just see their personalities! LOVE!!

These adorable kids were such fun..and made me work :) Miss Karli loved modeling and baby Averi eventually smiled for the camera, thanks to her Mom's hard work, and thank goodness..look at that face! Luke is just a great kid, and look at his eyes!! I hope Mom and Dad love these as much as I do!

I am a huge fan of the vintagey {is that a word?} look. So, I played around with these pics of Sean that I took today. He wasn't thrilled that I made him walk the neighborhood with me..but he always gives me pretty good 'face' :) His arm is all wonky in that first one..but I liked it anyway. I love all the practice I can get!

At least that's what Violet says..so cute that she calls Sean her best friend. She's a lucky lil sister! I took these today cause I had the itch to take pictures. So they're kind of random..but fun. Violet is showing that she's 2 years old she can't quite get her hand to close & that's why I like it :) So that's it till I wrangle up some other kids...it's all my own :)

The park shots are just some favorite captures of Violet playing at the park. She could hardly believe you could hear someone out of that 'phone'. Cute stuff. I love these kids!! They had to get up extra early for this shoot and Miss Emma wasn't really feeling it..but she is a doll :) The light started to make trouble for us; but it was the most fun & I can't wait to get Mom and Dad in some pics next time. I love a good storyboard and couldn't decide on color or b&w..so I did both :) They are 10x20 and printed up and framed great {if i do say so myself}.
